Dr. Lan-Sze Pang has expertise in strength-based narrative career counselling [韌性爲本敘事生涯輔導], with an emphasis on college students, mid-life adults, and ethnic minorities. Dr. Pang has over 15 years of experience conducting career counselling and assessment in the United States and Hong Kong, and developed solid clinical experience working with college students at university counselling centres. She has designed and delivered career workshop series for international students in the United States, taught vocational psychology and counselling courses at the bachelor's and master's level training programmes, and was invited to conduct strength-based narrative career workshops for university students in Hong Kong.
As a US-trained, seasoned clinical supervisor, Dr. Pang provides clinical supervision for master's and doctorate levels psychologists/psychologist-trainees, as well as supervising and mentoring pre-doctoral clinical supervisor-trainees.
Dr. Pang has served as the Director of the Doctor of Psychology in Counselling Psychology programme and the first Assistant Director of the Master of Social Sciences in Counselling Psychology programme at Hong Kong Shue Yan University. She is also the founder of the Practice-Based Evidence (PBE) Lab that connects practice with bottom-up research with digital technology. In addition to academic appointments in Hong Kong, she was a Visiting Professor at University of St. Joseph in Macau.
Dr. Pang obtained her bachelor's in psychology and master's and PhD degrees in counselling psychology from Southern Illinois University, where she received formal and extensive training in vocational psychology and counselling. She is an Associate Fellow of the Hong Kong Psychological Society, a member of its Division of Counselling Psychology, and a member of Asia Pacific Career Development Association.
Dr. Pang was invited by academic institutions, organizations, agencies, and professional bodies to deliver training, seminars, and workshops on diverse topics, such as vocational psychology, career exploration, and multicultural counselling:
